West WILkes High School
1:1 Laptops for STUDENTSWest Wilkes participates in the 1:1 laptop program provided by Wilkes County Schools. Here are some of the guidelines students need to use when taking care of their laptops:
1) Reboot laptops DAILY while on campus. This will help with connectivity at school and home as well as help with the updates needed for the laptop. 2) Bring laptops to school daily with a full charge. This is the responsibility of the student assigned to the laptop. 3) Back up your files. Save your documents in more than one location. Students can not access their documents saved on the school server (in their My Documents) while off campus. Documents need to backup on a flash drive and in your Google Drive assigned by the school. 4) If a problem occurs with your station, please reboot. Rebooting can take care of many issues such as freezing, wireless issues, mouse not moving, and the keyboard freezing. 5) If rebooting does not fix your issue, please come to the Media Center and fill out an online form outside on a desktop computer outside Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Burkhart's office. Bring the laptop inside the office after the form has been completed. 6) A loaner laptop will be issued if available and no damage has been completed. 7) Loaners cannot go home. |

For example, John Smith with a student ID of 123456 would have a login as [email protected] Passwords can be obtained from any West Wilkes High School teacher or administrator. Gmail Help |
