Today I had the pleasure of joining North WIlkesboro Elementary teachers as they worked with Dr. Yeap Ban Har to expand their knowledge in teaching Singapore Math. What a revelation to see the different ways we teach math and all the possibilities and methods of teaching math that I had never ever imagined! NWES teachers rock!
Teachers,
Wednesday, November 11, 2015 is Veteran's Day, an important day in America. Thanks to any of you who have served this country. Please take time to watch at least part of the video link in Discovery Education with your students. The entire video is 12 minutes but the link has it in segments also https://app.discoveryeducation.com/learn/videos/3e82190e-df0c-4f98-9c4a-56f21ccc4b30. From the site you will be able to see a K5, middle school and high school lesson starter with questions and vocabulary. Also, here is a quick video of Veteran's Day facts from History Channel, http://www.history.com/topics/holidays/veterans-day-facts Thanks! Today I had the opportunity to work with Robin Rhodes, Media Specialist from West WIlkes High School, to help media specialist across the county begin using Canvas. WCS has implemented Canvas, a Learning Management System. this school year. Media specialists will use Canvas as a collaboration tool to share resources and lesson plans.
Media specialists were divided by school level and created a "master course" and added modules of common themes they share. Media specialists will upload and share tools they utilize with students. Hopefully, this will allow for easier collaboration. Thanks for the opportunity to work with these wonderful ladies as we begin the process of sharing ideas! Please email me if you have questions or issues. |
